Cutteslowe Welcome

On behalf of the staff, children, parents/carers and governors of Cutteslowe Primary School, we would like welcome you to our website.

I feel privileged to be the Headteacher at Cutteslowe Primary School, a caring school, at the heart of a community in North Oxford. As the headteacher, I take pride in knowing each child personally, championing their achievements and supporting them to fulfil their potential.

We hope that you and your child will get the very best out of the opportunities that Cutteslowe School has to offer. As parents/carers, you are the first educators of your child and so we actively seek and value your contribution and commitment in working with us to give your child the very best educational experiences.

As a school we celebrate the diversity of the wider community and are committed to the principles of inclusion and equality of opportunity. Our aim is to be "A school of opportunity" for our children, staff and parents/carers.

Gillian McDermottOur school hosts a wide range of fantastic resources including: a food technology room, a well-stocked library, a purpose built early years unit, a hall with built-in stage, a music room and fantastic outdoor resources.  Our extensive school field has been developed to include: a Forest School site; fire pit; vegetable beds; climbing equipment; reading gazebo; willow dome; amphitheatre; bug hotels, chicken coop, goat pen and woodland pathways. Our well-resourced grounds enable us to provide rich indoor and outdoor learning environments, where we can foster confident, independent learners.

Cutteslowe Primary School is part of the River Learning Trust. You can find out more information about River Learning Trust by visiting www.riverlearningtrust.org.

At Cutteslowe we enjoy the opportunity of working closely with a diverse range of schools which benefits both our staff and children.

In April 2014 the school announced changes to The Cherwell School’s admissions policy. This important change ensures that any child who lives in The Cherwell School’s catchment and attends Cutteslowe Primary School will be guaranteed a space at the oversubscribed school.

We hope that you enjoy your virtual visit, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Thank you for visiting,

Gillian McDermott
